Hand Cream
As winter approaches i'm finding my hands getting dry and rough so I love having a tube of hand cream to lather on. I've only tried supermarket ones ill be honest but I do know that the pharmacies offer a lot when it comes to dry skin. I currently have the Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Intensive Relief Hand Cream. Its nice and thick, sinks in reasonably quickly, has a pleasant scent (not too strong) and gives you and instant relief of the horrible sandpaper feeling when you have dry hands.
Papaw Ointment
I love this because it has so many uses. I mainly use it as a lip balm but it can be used from burns and cuts to insect bites and splinters. You can get these in three different sizes and I have the smallest.
Oil-Blotting Powder
I have oily skin. There's no way around it. In the summer especially I need a little extra help keeping the shine at bay. The Za Groovy Smoovy Oil-Blotting Powder is great. A couple of swipes of this and the shine is gone! Along side it is my little travel size Revlon Powder Brush. Its so handy to have.
Lip Products
I always have a minimum of three different lip products in my bag. A balm, a nude and a bright. I see it as having something for almost any occasion.
Currently I have the Maybelline Baby Lips Balm. For me a balm is a balm as long as my lips feel good afterwards anything close will do.
My current nude is the L'Oreal Colour Riche Extraordinaire Lip Colour in 500 Molto Mauve. I love nudes with a pink undertone as it looks like im wearing something on my lips. It has good pigment and a nice shine too. The little applicator is a nice shape and really easy to use.
Last but not least is the NYX Butter Lipstick in Razzle. Im in love with this lippy right now. It is moisturising with incredible pigment. The only slight downside is because its moisturizing its not as long lasting as some other lippys that I have. But don't let that put you off!
Bits n Bobs
Lastly is the odds and ends that come in handy all the time.
A little compact mirror for touch ups. I just got mine from the dollar store. I swear i use it at least once a day.
My sparkly Revlon nail file. I have pretty weak nails and the are always breaking so having on of these in my bag is a must because there is nothing worst than a rough nail catching on everything!
Then my little bag that keeps everything together (well sometimes) I got this at Typo a while a go. The thing that drew me to it the most was the size then the little quote on the front.
And there you have it. The basics that i ALWAYS have in my handbag so I'm ready for (nearly) every occasion.
