Makeup on a Budget / Face Products

Leave a Comment

As you all know, cosmetics can be ridiculously expensive, especially here in New Zealand and I'm not just talking about luxury brands like MAC, Bobbi Brown, Chanel, YSL etc. Everyday brands such as Maybelline, Revlon, L'Oreal; they're all going to cost you anything from $20 for a single lipstick, to $45+ for a foundation. And I don't know about you, but my bank account doesn't always allow for makeup splurges of that extent.

There are plenty of products out there that don't cost and arm and a leg, but still do an amazing job; many of which I couldn't go a single day without having in my makeup bag.

Below I've listed a few of my favourite "affordable" face products along with prices* I've also mentioned where you can find the product, all for your researching pleasure.

* Prices may vary

SHE Primer - $12 LoveMy Makeup/Makeup Clearance Company
Silicone based primer, amazing at filling in pores and fine lines. Leaves an incredibly silky finish to the skin that allows foundation to glide on and stay on.

LA Girl Pro Concealer - $12 LoveMy Makeup/Makeup Clearance Company
Intensely pigments concealer, that has been compared to MAC's Pro Longwear, perfect for under the eyes to brighten and great for cream contouring. Doesn't crease.

Rimmel Stay Matte Powder - $8.52 asos.com
Mattifing pressed powder, best in the translucent shade as it doesn't reflect any colour. Perfect setting powder for an all day matte finish

E.L.F HD Undereye Setting Powder - $3.99 USD beautyjoint.com
Finely milled, light-diffusing powder that allows for creaseless undereyes. The light reflecting properties help to camoflage dark circles and other under eye imperfections, giving a brightening finish.

MIKI Bronzer - $10 LoveMy Makeup/Makeup Clearance Company
This bronzer comes in a set with a kabuki brush and natural, bronze lip gloss. It's not matte but it's not overly shimmery. It has the slightest shimmer to it which gives you a really pretty "glowing" bronze look. It suits light, medium and medium-deep skintones. On a darker complexion (MAC NC45 and up) the MIKI Bronzer looks more like a golden "highlighter".

They're all so affordable and amazing! I didn't include liquid foundations because I wanted to do a separate post on these. I have a few drugstore foundations that I absolutely love and would recommend so stay tuned for that blog post.

What affordable/drugstore products can you not live without? Leave a comment! xxx
